Green Connect is proud to be able to offer locally produced, chemical-free, sustainable meat from our farm in Warrawong.
Our pigs and lambs are raised on our chemical-free permaculture farm; the pigs digging and lambs grazing improves the organic condition of the farm helping our plants to grow. Our animals are regularly rotated around the farm so that they get different areas to feast on leftover fruit, vegetables and vegetation – which also helps us to cultivate the soil, giving us the capacity to convert food waste into meat for those who choose to eat it.
We believe that animals can play an important part in a permaculture setting, and by us having our animals on the farm, it not only creates more paid work for our staff but also gives our community an ethical, free-range option when buying meat, supporting the local community.

How big is a 10kg mixed pack ?
A 10kg pack fits in 25 cubic centimetres – about a third of a freezer compartment of an average household fridge-freezer.
What cuts of meat will I get?
Each Mixed package will include a pork roast, mince and sausages as well as one or more of the following cuts:
- Pork Shanks
- Pork Neck
- Pork Shoulder
- Pork Chump
- Loin Chops
- Spare Ribs
- Pork Belly
- Pork Bones
- Lamb Chops
- Lamb Shoulder
- Lamb Ribs
- Lamb Cutlets
- Stock pack with bones and trotters.
Can I choose specific cuts?
Unfortunately not. Our animals have only so many sections that can be made into specific cuts. We want to make sure that the whole animal is appreciated and nothing wasted so we only sell mixed packs. It also means the different cuts can be shared around all of our customers.
Is it free-range?
Yes! Our pigs and sheep were raised on our permaculture farm in Warrawong, where they moved about different areas of the farm and feasted on leftover fruit, vegetables and plants – which also helps us to cultivate the soil.
When and where do I pick up from?
Pick up from Cleaver and Co Craft Butchery, by Wed 8th of April 2020
2/5 Murphy Avenue, Gwynneville
Do I need to pre-pay?
How is meat priced?
Due to the current drought, the price of grain has gone up significantly and therefore we have had to increase our prices slightly.
The price is $24/kg for the 10kg pack. Our large packs include a stock pack that is including either bones, trotters and skin, these are priced at $12/kg.
We are a not-for-profit organisation wanting to provide fair food (by which we mean it is good for the people who grow it, including that they are paid at award rates, good for the people who eat it, and good for the planet), so the price of the meat is based on what it costs us. Which means we rely on the community to buy it, so please spread the word!
