Monthly Farm Tour – September 5, 2020

This is a tour tailored for an adult audience. For a tour where your kids are allowed to come along, you must book Farm Tour for Families

We have been creating our award-winning urban farm in Warrawong for more than eight years and love sharing it with others! We invite you to come and see what happens when you take 12 acres of scrub, a team of passionate hardworking staff and volunteers, then add the philosophies of permaculture and organic farming principles.

On this 75-minute tour, you will see how our market gardens work, our food forest that is slowly producing fruit, and meet the free-range sheep, pigs and/or chickens who love a good feed. On the tour, we’ll talk about Green Connect as a whole, what running a social enterprise entails, and our plans for the future. The site is a working farm and is particularly steep and slippery in parts and, at this stage, is not accessible by everyone. See the video below to check this is the tour for you.

At Green Connect Farm, we create jobs for young people and former refugees, we reduce waste, and we grow fair food – food that is good for the people who grow it (fair wages and a good job), good for the people who eat it (healthy and pesticide-free) and good for the planet (sold locally and without polluting the planet). Come along to ask us more about what we do.

Green Connect is a not-for-profit social enterprise that provides employment to young people and former refugees and the sustainability industry. Your booking directly helps us to continue the vital work we do. Thank you for your support!

Not sure if this tour is for you? Check out the terrain in this video from 2017. More recently, we’ve done some major earthworks on the farm. If the weather has been wet, the farm will certainly be muddy so make sure to dress appropriately. We don’t cancel events in wet weather (unless it’s a dangerous storm). Getting wet or muddy is all part of the fun!
