Green Connect employs young people and former refugees to do work that helps the planet and the community.

Many of the people we work with have many barriers to employment, including transport barriers, language and learning difficulties and/or mental health challenges. Most have not seen what it means to have and keep a job in Australia. To help them to thrive, we provide training, work experience and wrap-around support.

Green Connect also has a growing number of volunteers wanting to give back to the community, and attracted to what we do as an organisation – whether it is on the farm, in the op shop, in the office or in our zero waste team.

All of our staff and volunteers are highly valued. To ensure they get the most out of their experience with Green Connect, we are hiring a Support Worker.

About the role

This is a part-time position, eight hours per week (preferably spread over two days in the week), for an initial period of six months. More hours may be required over summer, when our zero waste team is at its busiest.

You will be responsible for managing employment and volunteer enquiries, checking in with staff and volunteers after their first shift, addressing support needs, and documenting everything in our database.
