Your group will see how our market gardens work, our food forest that is slowly producing fruit, and meet the free-range sheep, pigs and/or chickens who love a good feed. On the tour, we’ll talk about Green Connect as a whole, what running a social enterprise entails, and our plans for the future.
At Green Connect Farm, we create jobs for young people and former refugees, we reduce waste, and we grow fair food – food that is good for the people who grow it (fair wages and a good job), good for the people who eat it (healthy and pesticide-free) and good for the planet (sold locally and without polluting the planet). Come along to ask us more about what we do.
The farm is quite steep in places, gets very muddy after rain, and there are lots of uneven surfaces so only book your tickets if you feel confident that you can traverse our unique site.
Green Connect Farm in Warrawong
You’ll need to bring:
- Enclosed shoes or boots – sorry no thongs on sandals as we have ants, occasional snakes and other creepy crawlies on the farm
- Sunhat and sunscreen or rain gear including gumboots (please check the forecast)
- Water to drink
- Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
Please note that if the weather has been particularly wet the farm might be muddy and wet so make sure to dress appropriately. We don’t cancel tours in wet weather (unless it’s a dangerous storm).
We have a number of animals on our farm including pigs, sheep and chickens. We also have beehives (please notify us if you or you are allergic) and the occasional snake. All children must be supervised by a parent, carer or other responsible adult at all times.
Discounts are available for veg box customers and not-for-profit partners. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to chat about your options.
