Connecting with our Community
When we started our Warrawong farm 8 years ago, we knew that we wanted to sell our produce directly to customers instead of distributing via wholesalers. There were a few reasons for this.
First, we wanted our food to stay within our local community. We’ve all heard about ‘food miles’ are and how damaging they are to our environment. By selling locally, we can reduce the distance our produce travels from farm to plate.
Second, we wanted to reduce our food waste. This is why we adopted a veg box model based on Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). By ‘curating’ boxes for customers and packing them full of a variety of fresh, seasonal produce based on what is ready to be harvested at the farm, we are better able to grow the right amount of food for our customer base and reduce our waste.
Finally, we decided to sell our produce direct to customers because wanted to build and support a community that cares about and supports fair food in the Illawarra. We want our customers to experience the magic of the farm and connect with the land and people that feed them.
And so… We’re excited to invite you to join us on Saturday 12 March from 9-11am for a Veg Box Customer Morning Tea at the farm! You’ll get to meet our team and other awesome veg box customers, enjoy yummy food, do fun activities and meet some of our animals. All veg box customers and their household members are welcome.

Did you know?
Beetroots come from the taproot of the beet plant and have a sweet and earthy flavour. They are delicious when eaten boiled, roasted or raw and can be added to a huge range of dishes, including bakes, pastas and smoothies. The green leafy portion of the plant is also edible! Young leaves able to be eaten raw in salads and mature leaves are good boiled or steamed and eaten in a similar way to spinach
