Just 13 minutes’ drive south of Wollongong CBD you’ll discover Green Connect Farm, an 11-acre award-winning urban farm. Green Connect Farm follows organic farming and permaculture principles to produce vegetables, fruit, herbs, nuts, eggs, honey and free-range meat. Your 90-minute experience will include an interactive and informative tour, as well as time to explore the children’s garden. You’ll visit the thriving market gardens and food forests and seek out the free-range goats, sheep, pigs and chickens to offer them a pat and a feed! You’ll learn about the incredible story of the Green Connect Farm and hear about how we work with nature to grow and distribute food in a truly sustainable way. This tour is designed for anyone wanting to experience the abundance and beauty of the Green Connect Farm and find out a bit more about permaculture principles and practices. There will be lots of opportunities to get hands-on, engage your senses, and ask questions as you explore this magical space. Private farm tours, which can be customised to focus on topics and experiences of interest, are also available for groups of family/friends and community groups. Where: Green Connect Farm, 6 Anna Avenue, Warrawong Dates and Times: See below for upcoming dates and to book your spot Join us at the beautiful Green Connect Farm for an exciting session of outdoor play and farm exploration.Our new Play & Picnic Days offer a fun and educational outdoor experience for families and people of all ages, with more opportunities to enjoy time on the farm than ever before.
Spend up to 3 hours in our beautiful Children's Garden, where kids have lots of choice for free play, including sand pit, mud kitchen, recycled and natural loose parts and more. You’ll also head out on two mini–Farm Tours, offered in small groups throughout the session, to meet and feed our pigs, sheep, goats and chickens, explore our organic market gardens, smell our compost, and learn a bit about how we grow food sustainably. Bring a waste-free snack and a small picnic rug (if you don't want to sit on the grass, rocks or logs) to make the most of what is sure to be a fun and enriching morning!
Located in Warrawong NSW, just south of Wollongong, Green Connect is an award-winning social enterprise with a mission to employ and support former refugees and young people with complex barriers to employment. We invite you and your group to join us for a private tour at Green Connect farm! Just 13 minutes’ drive south of Wollongong CBD you’ll discover Green Connect Farm, an 11-acre award-winning urban farm. Green Connect Farm follows organic farming and permaculture principles to produce vegetables, fruit, herbs, nuts, eggs, honey and free-range meat. In addition to our public programs, we are pleased to offer customised tours for private groups to join us to explore the farm, meet our animals and learn about sustainable urban food production. We would be delighted to tailor a visit to cover topics and activities you’re most interested in, and to create a fun, interactive and thought-provoking experience for your whole group. Private Farm Tours are great for garden clubs, scout/guide groups, playgroups, a big bunch of friends and family, or any group of people wanting to experience the magic of the Green Connect farm. Pricing details:- $16pp for a 1.5 hour tour of the Farm (minimum charge $400).
- Add-ons:
- $50 for 1 hour of free-time or play-time in our children’s garden.
- $65 for a tea and coffee station for your group, with an hour of free time in the children’s garden.
- $150 for 45-minutes hands-on learning about growing vegetables in the demonstration gardens (weeding, aerating the soil, preparing the soil with organic materials, planting and mulching).
- A 10% discount is available for non-profit and community groups.
Cancellation Policy – Private Farm Tours are:Private Farm Tour- Booking Form
- Fully refundable up to 7 days before the tour date and time.
- Transferable or 50% refundable up to 3 days before the tour date and time.
- Not transferable or refundable within 3 days of the tour date and time, unless under exceptional circumstances and at Green Connect’s discretion.
- If Green Connect must cancel for any reason, including extreme weather conditions or changing COVID restrictions, we will transfer your booking or issue a full refund.
