Op Shops are the next big thing in conscious customer culture. With times changing, and a new wave of Op Shoppers bargain hunting, the question must be asked; what kind of Op Shopper are you?

  1. The Global Citizen

A staple of Op-Shops, the Global Citizen is looking to keep their social and environmental impact sustainable. Maybe you want to minimise your carbon footprint; you could be waste-conscious and want to keep usable clothing out of landfill, or maybe it’s sweat shops that aggravate you. Look no further! Op shops are the perfect place to reduce your effect on the environment, encourage textile recycling AND make socially responsible purchases.

  1. The Fashionista

The Fashionista knows exactly what they’re looking for and it’s probably not this side of vintage. They can often be observed prowling the clothing section, sweeping entire racks aside so they can examine the offerings in minute detail. The Fashionista knows style when they see it, even three racks away from around a corner!

  1. The Treasure Hunter

Often found near the china cabinets, treasurer hunters are easily identified by the care with which they take, examining each potential find with the keen eye of a collector and the discerning taste of a veteran Op Shopper. One person’s donations are another person’s treasure!

  1. The Wanderer

Sometimes you don’t have a particular goal in mind; the search can be just as fun as the find! The Wanderer can be found leisurely browsing the rows, exclaiming over fun or wacky outfits with their friends, or checking out books and knickknacks that catch their interest. The Wanderer doesn’t have a particular goal in mind, the journey is the destination!

  1. The Bargain Hunter

Characterised by their excellent eye for a good price, your average bargain hunter can take on many forms. Young parents, trying to stay ahead of their wildly sprouting children on a budget. Students, trying to make that pay check stretch and dress in style to boot. Pensioners, unimpressed by modern styles or looking for an old favourite. There’s always something for the Bargain Hunter at an Op Shop!
