Rod Logan
Meet Rod, our Market Garden Coordinator at the farm for the past 18 months. Rod has a wealth of knowledge, with extensive experience including organic farming, revegetation, grazing and land management, creek line regeneration, orchards/fruit trees, soil health and vegetable box production!
Originally from the Hunter, Rod is widely travelled and has also lived in Sydney, the far south coast and worked on an environmental aid project in Vietnam.
At Green Connect, Rod really enjoys working with a diverse group of people. With the help of others, he loves working to transform weedy and overgrown garden beds (where harvests have long been completed) into clean beds of freshly planted seedlings. I can agree that the results are extremely satisfying!
Rod tells me he is a fan of chooks, dogs, wombats, and of course veggies (with the exception of chili). After working with Rod over the last few months, I can confirm he is also a BIG fan of horse manure and the benefit it brings to our garden beds! Many times, I have arrived at the farm on a Monday to the smell of multiple bags of horse manure that Rod has enthusiastically collected over the weekend!
Rod is always patient, kind, and happy to share his experience and knowledge. We are very fortunate to have him in the Green Connect team here at the farm.
Enjoy your boxes this week, full of vegies grown with Rod’s green thumb!

Did you know?
Kale is a great source of many important nutrients, including fibre, vitamin K, vitamin A and vitamin C. Kale is versatile and easy to enjoy in a variety of different recipes. It works especially well paired with fruit and blended into a kale smoothie, or as an addition to soups or omelettes.
