A Fresh Look
It’s an exciting time for Green Connect Fair Food with the official launch of our new website! As veg box subscribers, chances are you’re well-aware of this already; perhaps you’ve even checked out your new customer account page.
The story of Green Connect is a story of organic growth, both for our organisation and for our veggies. It started with a passionate community of people with an ambitious goal – to grow food that didn’t cost the earth and to create jobs for former refugees and young people. An enormous amount of work, by a lot of amazing people, went into establishing our 11-acre farm in Warrawong and launching our veg boxes. There have been many, many bumps in the road, but we’re thrilled to still be here, providing local, organically-grown produce for our community.
Working towards financial viability and organisational sustainability remains a critical goal for us. We hope that creating a better experience for customers and enabling them to play a more active role in the management of their veg boxes, both through personalised Subscription Management pages and upcoming Pick-your-Produce boxes (launching in August!), will get us closer to this goal.
We invite you to check out your new customer account to see what changes now lay at your fingertips. FAQs will be coming soon! In the meantime, if you can’t figure out how to change something, or ongoing if you prefer a more personal touch, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us! We’re still here and very keen to make sure you get produce that meets your tastes and your changing needs.

Feature Veg: Pumpkin
Pumpkins are a member of the cucurbit family and is often referred to as ‘winter squash’. Their summer relatives include cucumber and zucchini; they are also related to melons. The edible vegetable that we eat comes from the fleshy fruit of the pumpkin plant, which encases the seed. All parts of pumpkins are edible, including the skin, flesh, seeds and flowers. They can be boiled, steamed, roasted, and grated or pureed for a variety of sweet and savoury dishes. Check out our pumpkin produce page for more info and for a range of delicious pumpkin recipes!
